Mark Moran has dedicated over 40 years to the health and aged care industry, continuing the pioneering legacy of his parents, Doug and Greta Moran, who began their groundbreaking work in health and aging nearly 70 years ago, in 1956.

Mark's career is marked by diverse and influential roles, including serving as an electoral officer and speechwriter for the Shadow Federal Health Minister for three years and as a Director of the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation over an 18-year period. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch a multibillion-dollar pharmaceutical supply organisation, revolutionising the supply chain for hospitals and aged care facilities across Australia.

A pivotal moment in Mark's career was when he rescued his parents' business, the Moran Health Care Group, after a significant portion of it had been placed into administration. This achievement underscored his commitment to sustaining and advancing the quality of care within the industry.

Together with his wife, Evette Moran, Mark co-founded the Mark Moran Group, which has since become Australia's most awarded retirement and aged care organization. Evette Moran as Co-CEO of the Mark Moran Group oversees all facets of the Group’s day to day management and strategic evolution. Her visionary leadership has earned her numerous prestigious accolades, solidifying her status as a global influencer and industry leader.

Evette has been honoured with the World's Global Influencer award at the Ageing Asia Singapore Awards, a testament to her profound impact on the international stage. Her dedication to exceptional design has been recognised with the Best Interior Design awards at the International Property Awards in both Thailand and Melbourne. Sally brings over 26 years of extensive experience to her role at the Mark Moran Group. She has a background in Registered Nursing and has held several Directorship roles. Sally is a member of the Australian Gerontological Association and is passionate that all older people are treated with dignity and respect, whilst promoting independence and choice. She enjoys working collaboratively with teams to make a difference and improve the lives of those in our care.

Arthur Koumoukelis has specialised in the aged care and retirement village industry since 1995. He holds degrees in both accounting and law. This background in corporate and tax allows him to advise on all aspects of the structuring, acquisition, disposal, development and operation of aged care, assisted living and independent living retirement living environments. He also provides assistance to approved providers and operators of seniors living facilities in relation to any litigious issues, disputes and administrative actions.

In addition, Arthur is a key adviser to the major banks lending to the industry. Working with financial institutions, he has helped develop funding products for consumers and operators to fund aged care, assisted living and independent living seniors environments. Although the focus of Arthur’s practice is on the aged care and retirement living sector, he also has experience across a range of practice areas including charitable, not for profit organisations, corporate, litigation, dispute resolution, taxation and franchising.

Rob Drake has in his 40 year career, worked as an infrastructure fund manager (InfraRed Capital Partners), investment banker (Macquarie Capital), and lawyer (Baker McKenzie, Corrs Chambers Westgarth)  and on a range of infrastructure projects, as well as other corporate and financial transactions. In particular, Rob has either been a sponsor and investor or a financial or legal adviser on a broad range of social and economic infrastructure projects including in the aged care, health, schools, water, waste recovery, student accommodation, light rail, energy, and renewable power, sectors.

Nearly all of Rob’s career has been spent “at the coal-face” of transactions (rather than reviewing high level summaries of work done by others). He therefore understands the complex details and intricacies of major infrastructure projects, particularly where the financing was being sourced from the private sector and is able to provide considered and robust commercial advice to Government, both at the negotiation stage, as well as during the delivery, and operating, phases of the project.

Rob has a thorough understanding of the commercial and financing risks and complexities and intricate details involved in major projects, from the perspective of a long term equity investor (rather than as a legal or financial adviser who leaves the project at financial close). He is therefore able to quickly identify and assess the most material risks and issues and then develop and implement strategies to resolve or deal with issues and problems, either pro-actively, or as and when they arise. 

Rob is an active director, quite perceptive and is able to quickly see, and assess “the big picture” and distil the most material risks and issues which will assist the Board in the event that strategies are to be developed, problems resolved or dealt with, and advice to be provided.

Leanne M. Zalapa known affectionately as Lulu, is a seasoned leader with a distinguished career spanning the health sector. With a comprehensive background in nursing, public health, health administration, philanthropy, and company directorship, she brings a wealth of expertise.

Commencing her journey in healthcare as a clinical nurse and nurse educator, Lulu specialised in cardiology before advancing into senior nursing roles. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own venture, where she conducted AIN workshops for nursing homes and facilitated accredited first aid courses.

Recognising the critical need for enhanced research, equipment, and training in patient care, Lulu assumed the role of founding CEO at a prominent hospital foundation. Through her philanthropic efforts, she spearheaded fundraising initiatives that amassed over $50 million, making substantial contributions to healthcare advancements.

In addition to her practical contributions, Lulu has made significant academic strides. She was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor of Industry at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Faculty of Health in 2016, where she also serves on the Dean's Advisory Board. Her dedication to education was further acknowledged when she was named the UTS Faculty of Health Alumni of Excellence in 2020, delivering the keynote address to graduating students in 2023.

Lulu's commitment to healthcare excellence has been recognised on a national level, earning her the Order of Australia for her exemplary service to the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation and health education.

Zonica has over 19 years of experience in senior accounting positions, including management roles at a Big Four audit firm and the retail and aged care industries. A distinguished Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Namibia and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, she has demonstrated her expertise across diverse continents, including Africa, the USA, and Australia. In her current capacity, Zonica assumes full ownership of the MMG finance function.

Amit Patel is passionate about the Mark Moran Groups vision as world leaders & innovators in the retirement & aged care industries. A member of the Mark Moran Group’s Executive team, he has over 15 years of aged care experience. Amit holds multiple degrees in Finance, Business & Front-Line Management making him uniquely qualified to oversee Group Operations. His strength lies in his hands on approach to management, his team appointments and ensuring he is across all aspects of the day to day operations of the group.

Anne-Maree has built a distinguished career founded on integrity, achieving success across diverse roles and sectors, including Financial Markets, Financial Planning, and Aged Care legislation. She is an accomplished professional known for her ability to build strong collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders, COIs, and colleagues, ensuring the delivery of effective solutions and the best possible customer experience.

Diversional Therapist Michael Murgolo brings 10 years of experience in the field of Leisure and Lifestyle, specializing in working with individuals and groups living with cognitive impairment. Passionate about recreational therapy, Michael oversees the leisure and lifestyle programs for all homes within the Mark Moran Group, driving the group's vision to be world leaders in aged care.

Michael's commitment to excellence was recognized internationally in 2024 when the Mark Moran Group was awarded the Best Active Ageing Program at the Eldercare Awards in Singapore. This prestigious accolade highlights the impact of his innovative and comprehensive approach to aged care.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Health Science, Cert IV in Business, Management and Marketing, and is currently completing a Masters of Health Service Management. Additionally, he serves as a board member for the Australian Recreational Therapy Association, where he is responsible for the aged care services portfolio.

Michael's expertise lies in introducing leading programs for both individuals and groups within the homes, as well as conducting behavior management for those with cognitive impairments through recreational therapy. His approach ensures that those living in aged care receive quality services that cater to their physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural needs. Madhab’s passion has always been to care for the elderly. He joined the Mark Moran Group in 2011, his first role with the company as a Registered Nurse. He has since progressed within the company, first as Care Manager (2012-15), Education and Quality Manager (2016), Deputy Director of Nursing (2016-19) and was appointed the Director of Nursing in March 2019. Madhab relocated to Australia in 2007 and after working in hospitals in Brisbane in Palliative Care decided to dedicate his career to Aged Care.

Mitchell brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge in the Aged Care industry to the role of Director of Nursing at Mark Moran Vaucluse. An experienced Registered Nurse that has held several Clinical Management roles, he has a transformational approach to Nursing Management with a clear resident focus. He leads the clinical and care teams with dedication, drive and desire to achieve resident satisfaction, quality care delivery and a culture built upon valuing individuals.

Ravi Prasad has been a long-term clinician working with the Mark Moran Group in the Little Bay facility since 2015. He has performed various management roles at the Little Bay facility including, the Deputy Director of Nursing where he worked tirelessly in the development of his teams and promotion of a positive and healthy culture for both residents and employees. Ravi’s strengths are his leadership style, business acumen, and well-developed emotional intelligence.

Max Moran is the third-generation Moran family member to continue the esteemed family business, embodying the Mark Moran Group's ethos of being exemplars in seniors' planning. From an early age, Max has been deeply involved in the business, working from the ground up and collaborating closely with Mark and Evette, Board, Executive, and team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of the multi-disciplinary service business.

In 2018, Max joined the business in a full-time capacity and led the development of an enhanced lifestyle and activations program at the Group’s flagship development in Vaucluse. His innovative approach and dedication to enriching the lives of residents have been instrumental in setting new standards of care and engagement.

Max's journey then progressed to residential sales, where his passion for and intimate knowledge of the Mark Moran Group philosophy, combined with his commercial acumen, resulted in exceptional engagement with new and prospective members.
